Family: Vivian at Scripps Pier

Whenever I move to a new location I try to scout all my top favorite locations. I heard of Scripps Pier since it is such a popular spot, but realized I didn’t want to put it on my top list of places due to the lack of easy parking and how busy it always is. However, when my friend (and fellow photographer) wanted to have her family photos at this location I was all about it because she takes photos here all the time so she knew what we would be getting ourselves into.

The tide was super high so we started along the coast taking portraits with the pretty greenery until we made our way down to the beach. The last twenty minutes is the prime time for beach photography! We found a rock that didn’t have anyone on it to take a variety of photos before we finished our session under the famous pier! I had to wait it out a bit until the seven photographers with their tripods set up got their sunset photos.

It was such a fun session and extra fun to get to photograph my friend. I have really enjoyed getting to know Danielle (Danielle Vivian Photography). She lives in my neighborhood and over the past year we have had many coffee dates, assisted each other and text all the time about dorky photo things. I sure am going to miss her when we move to Bremerton next month!

I usually photoshop out people in the background of the photos, however I really loved the whole “Californian Vibes” with all the surfers in these beach photos. What are your thoughts?
