Family: Barclay at Montevideo, Uruguay

This sweet family has been living in Uruguay for almost a year now, so it was super exciting to get together for a family photo session to document their time here. As you can see in the first photo, it was full of tons of laughter as we explored Montevideo’s coastline. We had to make sure we took a portrait on the popular rambla - which is said to be the longest in the world at 22km and a highlight of visiting Montevideo.

The rambla is right next to this zoological building which looks like it is straight out of Morocco, but in my opinion a perfect background for family photos. The natural curves of the building and the colors really add to the portraits.

My favorite part was the sunlight coming through the walkway - oh that backlight was so pretty for some mom and son photos. I always make sure to get some separate photos of mom with each kid and dad with each kid!

Everyone was up for the adventure of walking down the grassy hill to get to the small beachside. Here we were able to capture some of the palm trees and the tall buildings that hug the coast of Montevideo. If you live here, you become very familiar with these landmarks as you drive along the rambla.

Both kids were up for giving me their biggest smile for individual portraits!

Thanks to the kids exploring some of the areas around the beach we found these black rocks and I could have sworn we were in Hawaii on the beach taking photos. It was such a fun spot!

We wrapped up the photo session with a beautiful sunset. So thankful I got to spend my evening with this lovely family and for all the laughter and fun attitudes they had during our session.
