Madison & Matt at Monterey, CA

We moved to Monterey, CA to attend DLI (Defense Language Institute) and learn Spanish before our move to Europe! I met Madison who is another military spouse in our Spanish class and we were instant friends when we both realized we love hiking and our dogs are our babies! Her husband was in another Spanish class and they ended up leaving a few months before us so we had to make sure to CAPTURE their LOVE in Monterey before moving to Mexico!

If you have ever been to Monterey, then you know the Old Fisherman’s Wharf is a highlight and staple of the city so our first stop for this sunrise session was the wharf. I just love the colors and beauty you can capture on camera here.

Wow it looks so much better on camera

Thanks girl, thanks! There have been numerous times that clients hire me and I tell them “Hey this location would be great” and they often say “Okay if you say so” and I can tell they are super hesitant - but they always end up being so shocked at how great of a spot it is for photos! Let me tell you, I am CONSTANTLY looking at every spot, location, place for photos because it’s just how my eyes and brain think and I try so hard to find the most perfect spots for photos. So I LOVE when clients put all their trust in me for locations!

It was a pretty gloomy morning (as most mornings are in Monterey) but it made for quite a magical sky and photos!

We explored a bit of the beach next to Cannery Row. During low tide this beach has a lot of rocks that make for the perfect spot for photos. Can’t forget the famous restaurant that almost everyone stops to eat at at Cannery Row in the background.

The love between these two - who by the way have been married for 9 years - is so magical! They are so happy!

You can’t complete a Monterey Photo Session with out photos at Cannery Row. It is the most popular spot to visit in Monterey. Although I do think it is super touristy during the day, it is a great spot to visit in the early morning and find some fun Monterey gear to add to your collection. Also its a great spot for some awesome photos!

I LOVE capturing your LOVE! Whether you are a couple or family! Please contact me to find out more about the portrait experience and how art can bring joy to your everyday life!
