Senior: Madison at Fort Story, VA

This photo session means the world to me because Madison is the last of my friend’s three girls to graduate high school AND I had the honor of photographing all three of them for their senior portraits! How awesome is that?? Scroll down to read even more fun facts about our friendship and this photo session.

^^^^ This rose garden was right next to the beach and I could not pass up taking a few portraits here before heading to the other popular spots for photos at Fort Story.

Look at this beauty! We had way too much fun exploring all the fun spots at Fort Story in Virginia Beach for her senior photos.

It is so important to me (and hopefully to you!) to have fun and LAUGH during your photo session!

We did a few outfit changes for this senior photo session. Outfit changes are so much fun as they give a different look to your photos. I LOVE how much this white and blue look screams “beachy” and goes so perfectly with the blue water.

We definitely had to make sure we took some photos with the famous lighthouses in the background. The sand, small dunes and sunny skies really made for a perfect photo day at the BEACH!

How do I know Madison’s mom?

I actually know Madison’s mom, Janey, because she was my BABYSITTER when I was a kid! YES! I just love this story. We have remained friends throughout the years and she had three daughters of her own - which is of course my favorite part of this story because she would babysit me and my two sisters (three for three?!?!). I often fly to VA to see my sister and her family and have had the privilege of photographing Janey’s beautiful daughters for their senior portraits the past few years. I was soooo excited I was able to fly to VA to photograph Madison’s senior photos!

We have such a variety of photos because we honestly were having way too much fun exploring Fort Story. Madison and her mom scouted this location for me since I don’t live in VA and they 100% nailed it!

This location at Fort Story has everything you need for photos - beach, rocks, lighthouses, stairs and much more!

Madison is a beach girl and wanted to include some photos with her surfboard. I was all about it! How great is this yellow surfboard?!?

You can’t see it in these photos, but Madison’s dad was a fabulous assistant. He held the surfboard up from behind it so Madison could lean on it for these photos. Team work for the win! OH and extra thanks to Janey for taking some fun behind the scenes and carrying the extra clothes.

Photo sessions are SO MUCH about collaboration and working together to create the most perfect photos to print and display in your home or send out for graduation cards. Thanks to my lovely team for making this such a wonderful session. I am so grateful for the time we got to spend together!
