Katie & Tres at Key West Sandbar

I moved to Key West about two years ago and I made it a personal goal of mine to do a photo session out on a sandbar before we moved to our next duty station. To truly experience the beauty of The Keys you have to get out on a boat and explore the mangrove islands that surround us. We also have a lot of sandbars where if you align your trip with the correct tides you can literally stand out in the middle of the water. Our good friends, Katie and Tres, own a boat and take us out on the water often, so I couldn’t think of a better couple to photograph out in the magic of Key West’s waters.

I am so thankful they were all about this session! We made sure to include Levi in some of the photos as well (Fuji and Kaya wanted to jump in for every photo hahah - see behind the scenes in the bottom of these photos). We started with a “higher” tide and when the tide got low we did an outfit change to get a few different photos. My photo dreams came true and I am pretty sure I will be dreaming about how great this session was for years to come! Extra thanks to Travis who assisted me on making sure my camera didn’t drop in the water, holding the reflector and taking a few behind the scene photos.
